Porto Moniz is known for its breath-taking landscapes. Its water springs are its ex-libris. Volcanic rocks fill up with the tide, forming very pleasant pools, especially in summer. Porto Moniz is also a starting point for unforgettable walks, such as the seaside walk to the neighbouring town of São Vicente. This is one of Madeira's most picturesque town, where you can visit the famous local caves. By the narrow road that passes through the hills, you will find true natural treasures such as the "Véu da Noiva" waterfall. This same road also passes by Seixal, the town that hosts a Natural Ecologic Reservation, trout nurseries, and where you can take wonderful boat rides. Alternative visits to towns further inland, such as Santa, where the Santa Madalena Chapel hosts a pilgrimage every year in June. Paúl da Serra embodies a magnificent table-land, where the mountains and the clouds become one only.
